How We Steward Your Donations

!

At Charity Unite, we believe every donation should create the greatest possible impact in our community. We are committed to being responsible stewards of every item entrusted to us and carefully evaluate how each donation can best serve others.

When a donated item meets an immediate need, it may be provided at no cost to an individual or family experiencing financial hardship, homelessness, a life transition, or another significant challenge. We also work with nonprofit organizations, schools, churches, social workers, and other community partners who may request items or refer individuals and families in need.

Community members are welcome to nominate someone they believe could benefit from a donated item. To ensure fairness and responsible stewardship, every nomination and request is reviewed before an item is awarded. Charity Unite may contact the individual directly to learn more about their situation and determine whether the item is the best fit for their needs. For higher-value items, we may request a referral from a trusted community partner or additional information to help us make an informed decision.

Because donated items are limited, assistance is based on demonstrated need, item availability, and our ability to maximize the impact of every donation. Receiving assistance is not guaranteed.

If an item does not meet an immediate need or cannot be matched with a qualified recipient within a reasonable timeframe, it may be sold at a fair market value. Every dollar raised is reinvested into Charity Unite's charitable programs, community initiatives, and capital projects, allowing one donated item to benefit many people.

Whether an item is given directly to someone in need or sold to support our mission, every donation helps strengthen our community. We are committed to making these decisions with integrity, fairness, transparency, and respect for both our donors and those we serve.

Community Assistance Request & Nomination

Need a helping hand or know someone who does? Charity Unite accepts requests and nominations for donated items to help individuals and families facing financial hardship, unexpected challenges, or life transitions. Every request is reviewed with fairness, compassion, and transparency based on demonstrated need, item availability, and potential community impact. Our goal is to ensure every donation reaches those who can benefit most while honoring the generosity of our donors.

Nonprofit Partner Donation Request

Charity Unite partners with local nonprofit organizations, schools, churches, and community agencies to help ensure donated items reach individuals and families who need them most. If your organization serves the community and has a need for donated goods, please complete our Nonprofit Donation Request Form. Requests are reviewed based on available inventory, the population served, urgency of need, and the overall community impact. While we cannot guarantee fulfillment of every request, we will do our best to connect resources with organizations making a difference in our community.

After Your Garage Sale or Estate Sale

Turn What’s Left Over Into a Fresh Start for Someone Else

When your garage sale or estate sale ends, you're often left with items you no longer want to move, store, or dispose of. Instead of letting those remaining pieces go unused or end up in a landfill, you can donate them to Charity Unite and help support individuals and families in our community who are starting over.

Through our Thrift & Flip Art Studio, gently used furniture and home décor are given a second life — transforming everyday items into meaningful resources for someone in need.

Your Donation Makes an Impact

Your donated items may be:

  • Refurbished and provided directly to individuals and families transitioning into stable housing
  • Creatively repurposed by our Thrift & Flip Art Studio volunteers
  • Resold to help raise funds needed to launch our community thrift store and sustain programs that support those we serve

This allows us to continue providing essential household items to those rebuilding their lives while creating a sustainable way to serve more people over time.
